Zerosats is a bitcoin-denomated payments protocol that aims to provide a different set of trust assumptions when compared to other payments networks. Namely, the Zerosats operator does not custody any funds that back bitcoin-backed tokens in the network and it uses zero-knowledge proofs for improved privacy.

To use Zerosats, all you need is a compatible application. You can leverage our PWA wallet or our CLI wallet. After you download a wallet, you can swap funds into Zerosats using the Lightning Network and start spending bitcoin-denominated notes with high levels of privacy.

This site provides a high-level primer on Zerosats and its differentiated approach for private transactions. It covers the network architecture, the roles of various operators in the network, the bitcoin custody mechanism, and the privacy architecture.
